All entries must assemble by 5:15 p.m. on Burke Street. Go East on Rankin to Locust St., turn left on Locust St., go one block to Burke St. At the corner of Locust St. and Burke St., a parade committee member will direct you to your position in the parade.


People who want to see the parade should be on Main St. The Parade route will be:

Main St. to Little River Memorial Hospital and then to the Courthouse. Please return to

the courthouse following the parade for trophy presentations.


We strongly encourage participants to line up by 5:15 or as early as possible.


RULES:

No entry shall have a live Santa.

  1. All businesses and organizations are invited to enter the Christmas Parade.

  2. Throwing of candy will be permitted. Candy must be store bought and wrapped. Santa will also throw candy at the end of parade.

  3. Entrants of horses will be allowed only with a current negative Coggins test. Horses will proceed before Santa.

  4. All entries must be on the official entry form & received by the final due date of Dec. 3, 2021for an award.

  5. Pageant winners and Homecoming Queens may ride on individual automobiles or float. If riding on a float, the float must be decorated.

  6. All entrants must complete the entire parade route.

  7. Entrants will be notified of their entry number after the parade line-up is complete.

  8. Each entry must know their line-up number.

  9. The parade winners will be determined by a panel of judges selected by the parade committee and located on the judges’ stand in front of Ashdown Annex. The parade route will continue between the Little River Memorial Hospital and back to the courthouse. Judges’ selections are based on the following scorecard: Application 10 Points, Originality 20 Points, Neatness & Attractiveness 10 , Points Quality & Completeness 10 Points

  10. Judges’ decisions are final.

  11. Awards will be presented the night of the parade. Entrants should report to the Judge’s booth to receive an award.

  12. Entrants must fill out page 5 for the description that will be read announcing the floats and describing them.

  13. Awards will be given in the following: 1st Place Best Over All- 150.00, 2nd Place Best Christmas Themed- 75.00, 3rd Place Most Beautiful Float- 50.00

  14. Any questions or decisions not covered in the above rules will be determined by the parade chairperson or committee.
